Drifter

First off i want to say thank you to everyone last night.  Thank you howard for your support and help you’ve given me, for all the ride alongs, and for giving me seat time last night during the demo,  i cant thank you enough. I hope i did good during the demo!!  Thank you adam for helping me with my car, you made it possible for me to get back out on the track when i needed to in time, your a life saver and i cant thank you enough.  Thank you dad for bringing the car part i needed to get my car back running on the road, i never thought i’d get back in the race.  Thank you Jenna for being an amazing and supporting girlfriend, i didnt have a frown the whole night.  Thank you danielle for the sign it was amazing and i’ll keep it forever in my heart!  And finally thank you all friends and family who came out and supported me! I hope i put on a show and made you proud!

Friday night was D-day Race night, whatever you wanna call it,  it was amazing.  Before the event i lost my bolts on my tension rod going to jennas house, i had to replace them before i could go, i picked her up, went to the shop, got the bolts fixed and headed down to the race track.  As always i was the first one there.  Had our drivers meeting and we were on our way.  The first run i did was pretty intense, i thought hey whats the worst that can happen, so i was in second gear and i kicked the clutch, and lets say, i went into a differnt world.  I was in my world.  I was in a drifters world.  I was living what i have always wanted to do.  Drift. And i did just that.  After about 13 laps, i pulled off to let my car cool down and for some reason, i hard this crazy crazy whistle and my car wasnt running right.  I thought oh no, i jsut blew up my engine.  but it ended being my iacv, i got it fixed thanks to my dad, i got it fixed before eight thank goodness.

I told howard and he was excited, sense he knew i got my car fixed he asked me to do the 9:24 demo, i was so excited and there wasnt a question in my mind about it, i said of course.   Got my powersteering fixed and bam i was sitting at the staging line thinking wow, this is it, this is what i wanted to do, i’ve made it, i get to drift in the demo.  I was so happy, i felt like a drifter, i felt accomplished i felt amazing.  He told me to go and i did, i never let up, i was pedal to the medal the whole time. Everone said i did great and i put on a good show, i hope i did.

All in all i made it home alright, i had the most amazing night ever, i meet some amazing people and made amazing memories.  I have plenty of pictures to share, i hope you enjoy!!

Three letters, KA-T

Yes thats right KA24DE-T.  Doesnt it sound amazing?? Adding a “T” to the end of an already great motor.  Well a long story short i got a very good friend of mine to help me go down to pick up a motor with his truck so i picked up a torn apart motor from a guy in lawerncville. Everything is cleaned and machined, saving me the work.  So now all i gotta do is buy gaskets, pistons, and bearings and i can begin putting everything together.  I’m very very excited.  I must say having a motor completly apart in my room is almost a dream i get to put it together in the ac and heat, and i can take my time, and i can do it from my own room.  i must say i am very very excited.  I have a picture or two to go along with it, please follow my blog as by eveyr week i’m going to keep building and building.

Other news I got on the drifters list at lanier this friday, i hope to perform to the best of my ability.  Thank you again howard.  I will see everyone friday.  I”m very excited and nervous, i hope i do the best i can.  Thank you!!

Starry Night

May i say that it is nice just to live.  We’ve been given this life, we should use it to its full potential.

Late last night Taylor came by my work and wanted to hang out.  I said of course what do you wanna do.  He said he wanted to go on a mountain run. And sparks flew, i told him i couldnt drive to hard because of my clutch.  I still havnt broken it in yet.  So we asked blake to go in his truck, he said yes, and i asked jenna to ride with me and she said of course. We’ll ten o’clock rolled around and i was excited, i held the drivers meeting, and off we went. We snapped a couple of pics of our cars, which were the only ones i got sadly, and there not that great.

I must say blake did a very good job for his truck, i’m sure he will progress later on. Taylor was killing it towards the end of the run.  I’m glad he’s starting to really know his car.  I started to really drive hard at the end of the run i felt really good, and my car felt amazing.  I’d like to get biggger brakes, thats for sure.

I’ll never forget the time we stopped at the end of blood mountain.  All three of us stopped, turned out our lights, and i swear you could see every start in the galexy, it was amazing.  I wanted to stay there.  I got lost in space, no matter where i looked i seen ten stars. It was great, running touge, it sets me free, it takes me to a place i want to be and not here, i feel as i could fly around the mountain.  If its just cruising, or driving hard, it makes me feel free.  All the stress is gone, all the worries go out the window.  Its magical.

Your not so average tune up.

Well my car used to act up where it would back fire, run rich, have a very very rough idle wouldnt drive right and even sometimes stall out on me.  It took me a month to find out what the problem was and it ended up being my IACV or Idle Air Control Valve.  So now after a year of doing that it did it again, which it should never do it after a year, but i decided to run to autozone on one of my breaks at work and get some throttle body, intake cleaner.  I took it off in about 10 minutes which wasnt to bad, didnt give me to many problems.  When i finally got it tooken apart it didnt seem it was that dirty but i cleaned it and sure enough that fixed it. I was very very suprised.  So it drives very smooth now, i orderd a rear brake caliper from a buddy of of 240atlanta.com so my car is coming back together.  I took one or two pictures, enjoy.

Non stop day.

Wow today has been crazy!  I’ve been everywhere today.  Well i started my day by seeing the awesome girlfriend today.  We watched Dnner with Schmucks. It was a pretty funny movie i recommend seeing it.  Then i hung out with her after that.  A friend of mine wanted me to help him remove his transmission from his vert a.k.a. Convertable.  I told him of course.  I went down there and boy was i in for some fun.  I never thought i’d take another transmission apart but i did, it took us a good three hours but it was worth it.  And on top of that he had an AWESOME house, he had an audi R8 that thing was sick.  I took two pictures, one was of his car and the other was of the extensions we used to get the top two bolts of the tranny, ha i couldnt believe it how we did it but we came from the rear end of the car with about two feet of extensions.  My day isnt even over yet and its 11 o’clock.  I have two pics enjoy!

Well enough alone.

FINALLY, I got my clutch in.  I thought i’d never be able to do it but i did and yes i did it all by myself.  My 5’8, 155 lb body took my transmission out and put it back in my car. It took me three days but it was well worth it.  I got tired of waiting on help.  Taking it out was easy no problem, taking the clutch off was no problem either, and this was my first clutch install so i was pretty nervous about doing it.  I greased everything up, i didnt have to remove my flywheel because it looked just fine, i didnt have to remove this pilot bearing either, it was just fine.  The throw out bearing was tricky but I managed.  Well onto the pics. Enjoy.  I also added one of the gorgeous clouds that god has given us to enjoy.

No more slipping

Herroo all.  I believe i’ve gone over that my clutch has went out.  Day by day it keeps getting worse and worse.  But today i got lucky and i got a hook up on a new Exedy clutch.  I believe its a stage two.  I will have pictures of the install on this one i promise, i’m going to take my time because i know its going to be very long. I should have it running tommorw!!

Curbs

Well when testing out my new lsd i made a mistake.  Me and a buddy were hanging out this past week and i ended up smacking a curb with my car.  I was going into the turn in second gear and running second gear out, i flicked the car into a faint to set the car into the turn and i did it way to late.  I ended up sliding forward instead of into the turn and slide straight into a curb at thrity miles an hour.  I called J.T to come tow me out because my whitel was poking about 45 degreses to the outside so it was pushing my car pretty hard to the right.

A long story short. I hit the curb on thrusday and didnt get my car running till sunday.  I took the whole car apart that day, waited til sunday to get the parts, which was painful not driving my car is like not breathing.  It was literally a blood, sweat, and tears moment for me.  It tested my faith and my strength.  I prayed, i cried,i chipped a tooth, i thougth about giving up and selling my car but i kept strong and endured the pain and stuck with it and guess what?? Its running again.  I was so thankful to get it running again.  Wanna know something else? I’m a sliding machine  ha.

So my future mods are steering rack bushings, and  a new clutch because mine is gradually going out. I hope all of you are taking care, enjoy this summer, its almost over.

Lovin LSD

No not lsd the drug, but Limited Slip Differintial. Its a Viscous lsd from an r33 skyline and it locks up no problem at all, especially with my ka. I bought it from the same guy i bought my headlights from, super cool dude and he had it out before i evn got there.  I wish i could share pics with the swap but i cant send my pics from my phone to my email anymore.  I Will be putting up pictures soon. I hope everyone has a good week

Been out of the game to long.

Hello all, sorry i havnt really updated my blog in awhile.  I’ve been pretty busy with work and school, getting everything ready.  I’ve been skateboarding a little bit here more lately, my schedule’s been crazy i made it out to woodward a couple of times.  I felt like what it was to be a kid, it motivated me with my car and my life.  It made me feel like what life was really about.  Having fun.  So i’ve been picking up progress on my car.   A couple of new things, I got my nardi steering wheel, new hid lights, a new hood, and i fixed some of the body damage on the car.  Slowly but surely its comming on.  I had a power steering leak but i got that fixed thanks to J.T.

Now for the great news, i got to race my car for the first time at Lanier National Speedway.  What a rush it was just amazing.  I got alot of compliments on my driving, thanks howard for the time you made for me so i could get some seat time.  Overall i finished second in the time attack.  Fourth in the spectator race and i beat the fastest car there in the drag race!  It was an amazing experiance, and i was so thankful for it.  The next one is july 23rd so i’m just kinda planning on sliding my car a little bit, nothing special.

I’m plannin on gettin a vlsd soon so i’ll do a write up on it when i get it done. I hope everyone has been well. God bless.
